Anjimile Announces New Album The King, Shares New Song: Listen

The indie musician’s 4AD debut is out in September

Anjimile has announced his new album. The King, which follows 2020’s Giver Taker, is out September 8 via 4AD. “If Giver Taker was an album of prayers, The King is an album of curses,” Anjimile promised in a statement. The title track has been released today, and it arrives with a new visual from Daniela Yohannes, who also created the album artwork. Watch it below.

The album largely features only Anjimile’s vocals and acoustic guitar, though it also has contributions from Sam Gendel, Big Thief’s James Krivchenia, Brad Allne Williams, Justine Bowe, and Shawn Everett.

On Friday, November 10, Anjimile is performing as part of Pitchfork Music Festival Paris. Find his other tour dates below, too.
