Four Tet, Skrillex, and Fred Again.. Join Coachella 2023 After Frank Ocean Cancels

Ocean’s representatives said he canceled on doctor’s orders due to two fractures and a sprain in his left leg

Four Tet, Skrillex, and Fred Again.. will perform at 10:25 p.m. Pacific on the Coachella main stage this Sunday, April 23. Upon revealing its full Weekend 2 schedule, the festival had “TBA” listed under the 10:25 time slot at the Coachella Stage, but it has now confirmed that the three electronic artists will be joining the festival on Sunday night. Blink-182 were announced as the new headliners for the final night of Coachella, after Frank Ocean canceled his set.

Four Tet, Skrillex, and Fred Again.. recently released a collaborative track called “Baby Again..” The artists have been sharing it during live sets in recent months, including the trio’s five-hour b2b live set at Madison Square Garden. The song prominently samples Lil Baby’s “Baby.”

After closing out the first weekend of the festival, Ocean announced yesterday that he would not return this Sunday. Ocean’s representatives said he was forced to cancel his slated Coachella set due to doctor’s orders after he sustained two fractures and a sprain in his left leg. “It was chaotic,” Ocean said in a statement. “There is some beauty in chaos. It isn’t what I intended to show but I did enjoy being out there and I’ll see you soon.”

Ocean canceled his second set after reports surfaced that the production of his April 16 Coachella performance was altered due to an ankle injury. Two ice skaters seemed to confirm rumors that Ocean’s original live show was supposed to feature an ice rink and dozens of ice skaters.

Ocean’s Coachella performance was not included on the festival’s YouTube live stream. He ended his show somewhat abruptly, saying: “Guys, I’m being told it’s curfew, so that’s the end of the show. Thank you so much.”

Ocean’s performance last week was his first since 2017. He was initially announced as a headliner for Coachella 2020, but the festival was canceled for two years in a row due to the pandemic. In 2021, the festival revealed that Ocean would headline the Coachella 2023 instead of returning to the festival in 2022.
