Foo Fighters Share Video for 10-Minute New Song “The Teacher”: Watch

The band’s longest ever song appears on But Here We Are, out Friday

Foo Fighters are back with another preview of their new album, But Here We Are. “The Teacher” is a 10-minute rock epic and the longest song the band has ever recorded. It comes with a montaged and part-illustrated short film directed by Tony Oursler, which you can check out below.

But Here We Are is Foo Fighters’ first album since the death of Taylor Hawkins last year. “The Teacher” is the fourth single, following “Rescued,” “Under You,” and last week’s “Show Me How,” featuring guest vocals by Dave Grohl’s daughter Violet. The LP was co-produced by Greg Kurstin and the band.

During a tour rehearsal livestream earlier this month, Foo Fighters unveiled new drummer Josh Freese as Hawkins’ successor. The band started touring and resuming festival appearances in May, eight months after the last of two all-star Hawkins tribute shows at the end of 2022. Foo Fighters’ previous album was 2021’s Medicine at Midnight.
